  • FDA Registered Manufacturing facility, Registration number 3004620982, Registration letter

This emphasis and attention to quality from Phoenix Medical Devices has resulted in the most up-to-date applied electrical engineering circuitry for electrotherapy devices. Driven by the new family of Texas Instruments’ microprocessors (learn more) – the Duet, Duet+ and Quartet Interferential (IF) Muscle Stimulators from PMD feature the newest engineering designs possible.

Phoenix Medical Device’s Quality Values and Beliefs are woven through all departments and functions of the organization and there is great pride in the products and service provided. The top management of Phoenix Medical Devices continually assesses all operations in an effort to improve performance and satisfaction of customer requirements.

Our Quality System is managed by a unique document management system called “The Lean Machine”.

Comfort - IFT

Sophisticated up-to-date electronic circuitry produces a “clean” waveform, without the amplitude spikes, chatter or interference seen on other devices (compare actual output waveforms). This very constant waveform, without sudden changes in frequency or amplitude, translates into improved patient comfort.

True Interferential Therapy provides comfortable, soothing stimulation at the injury site without creating discomfort at the skin. The physiology of skin and tissue allows Duet’s and Quartet’s “medium” frequency stimulation (4000 cycles per second or hertz (Hz) for the “carrier” frequency and 4001 to 4150 Hz - depending on the therapy protocol - for the “interference” frequency) to penetrate the surface of the skin without significant skin resistance. True IF therapy allows the stimulation to penetrate deeply into the tissue to affect healing and recovery at the desired site. This helps avoid the discomfort felt with low frequency electrotherapy stimulation such as TENS, where the natural resistance or impedance of skin and tissue resists penetration by “low” frequency stimulation (read more principles of Interferential Therapy).

Once deep within the tissue at the site of injury, the two channels of different frequencies “interfere” with each other leaving behind a low frequency that is therapeutic. This precise mixing of different frequencies is a long established technology applied in stereo radio receivers.

The precise, repeatable performance of Duet and Quartet, accurately delivering prescribed frequencies even as low as 1 Hz, assures the delivery of interferential therapy as described in Interferential Therapy, Brenda Savage, MSc, MCSP, DipTP, Faber and Faber Ltd., 1984.

Value

Use of modern, sophisticated electronic engineering design and manufacturing practices by Phoenix Medical Devices have resulted in Duet and Quartet, Interferential Stimulation units that provide value within the challenging and rapidly changing electrotherapy market.

Duet and Quartet are a technologically designed response to the increasing pressure on reimbursement rates that aim to solve the concerns of all parties – insurance payors, patients, therapists and dealers.

Both Duet, a 2 channel device, and Quartet, a 4 channel device, feature the widest range of pre-set therapy protocols available among all Interferential Stimulators marketed to date. Duet features 15 protocols within Interferential (IF) and Neuromuscular Stimulation (NMS) modalities. Quartet provides these protocols and modalities plus (2) Russian and (3) Sequential Stimulation therapy protocols.

This wide range of therapies allows the clinician to identify and select the optimal protocol for effective stimulation and healing, while providing unsurpassed ease of use to the patient. Use of the “therapy lock out” feature by the clinician prevents unwanted changes to the therapy protocol and allows the patient to begin their therapy with just one touch of the On button.

Business Philosophy

Phoenix Medical Devices was founded by medical device veterans who believed that studious attention to innovation applied to quality systems, product design and manufacturing principles, would result in superior devices.

Similarly, the same attention to customer service and to distribution partnerships would truly create synergistic opportunities for logical business growth for all partners.

Phoenix Medical is not the largest medical device company, but no other company is better prepared or committed to their Quality Values and Beliefs – in service, product innovation, quality and value – to their Customers and Business Partners, with honesty and integrity.

Customer Service

Phoenix Medical Devices believes that true Customer Service begins long before any initial contact or business relationship is formed.

In addition, true Customer Service recognizes the value of your time and strives to achieve efficient, accurate and timely information exchange.

To deliver on our goal of responsive Customer Service, we are committed to:
